Well today was just one of those days -- where I felt hungry a good majority of the day.. This happens every once in a while. I started off the day with a good breakfast . 1 1/2 eggs, a wheat free, gluten free waffle and a piece of morningstar farms veggie sausage. Thankfully I had good things to snack on and a fairly healthy new lean cuisine steamers dinner. It was mushroom tortellini -- It was pretty good, but not filling enough on it's own and there was something in it that I wasn't particularly fond of. I threw away the package, but I think it may have been some kind of pepper that was in it... I don't think I will buy it again. I think I've gotten to where I just don't have the taste for many frozen dinners anymore. There are a few favorites that I've liked for a long time and I'm definitely willing to try new things, but the last few frozen dinners that I've tried haven't been very appetizing. I know you're probably asking well why buy frozen dinners anyway -- well just to not be taking the same thing to work for lunch all the time. I definitely like variety! One of the snacks I brought is one of the best things ever invented, especially for those watching portion sizes. They are portion sized little individual containers of reduced fat peanut butter! They are so handy and then you don't have to buy a whole big jar of it and it stays fresh !
(On a non food related note-- A somewhat rough ending to my day. I come out to the parking lot after work only to find that my car wont start! I waited around 30-40 minutes for the jumper/tow truck to get there. Thankfully one of my friends was there and hung out with me for a bit while I waited. They were able to start my car, and I'm praying that tomorrow I will be able to start it and make it to the Honda dealer to get a new battery The reason I'm taking it to the dealer is because I got something in the mail about they needed to update the software on the IMA battery in my civic hybrid. So I thought might as well get it done now. My boyfriend will be following me and we will most likely just leave my car there and pick it up on Friday.)
So on my really hungry day I didn't bring enough food either. So I broke down and finally around 5:45 ordered a Tuna Tataki Salad and some Miso soup from the sushi place right next door to where I work. It was good. I had been craving pizza, but I didn't want all the leftovers and what I had was significantly healthier than pizza. Really and truthfully I was just craving food and trying to figure out where near work would deliver. Lol!
I've forgotten how therapeutic writing is. It definitely helps me unwind after a long day -- especially today.
Thanks for reading!

Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft
Gary and I went there tonight for dinner -- we were both super hungry and I knew that it had been open for a while, so we decided to try something new. The menu was a bit different from the usual Thai food places that I go to.. Nothing that seemed familiar. I thought about asking, but then I thought well the description sound good enough, lets just give it a go(I'm normally the type to ask what the wait staff recommends if I've never been to the restaurant)This is what we decided on : Shrimp and Chicken Dumplings -- I was trying to find the name for them on the menu on the website, but it wasn't updated. Tom Kha Kai -- Chicken coconut galangal soup with mushrooms and cabbage. Kao Moo Dang -- Three style pork -- crispy BBQ and thai sausage over jasmine rice and herb sauce with cucumbers, a hard boiled egg and served with a black soy sauce.
I think the best part of the meal was the dessert. Gauy Thod -- fried bananas with coconut ice cream and there was a honey glaze on the plate. They fried the banana with rice flour and Thai beer. It was very light and fluffy. Overall a very good meal. It was nice to go somewhere new and different. The atmosphere was very nice. Very large open space with nice lighting and unique decor.

First Entry
I'm not going to make this a long first entry because my boyfriend is in the shower and after he gets out we are grabbing some dinner, because I'm starving. I'm not starving because I starve myself(never ever) well it's because it's been a while since lunch and I eat several small meals a day. I'm not diabetic, but have had the suspicion that I may be hypoglycemic or it's just the way my metabolism is... well you would think if that was the case I would be skinnier.... but alas I have a sweet tooth.. which I'm trying to remedy by eating healthier sweet things. This blog will be dedicated to things I am trying or have tried -- things that I like or dislike. I will start with a dislike that I had today.1 out of 3 Reduced Guilt Frozen Dinners from Trader Joes were good... the one I had today which was a pizza with roasted vegetables was not. However, thankfully I thought this morning before I left to bring a back up plan! My leftover grilled chicken with angel hair pasta, tomatoes and capers -- which is always so very good. So lunch wasn't a complete failure. I snacked on fruit and my cliff kids chocolate chip bar -- which is quite tasty in a chocolate craving pinch -- but not as satisfying as some -- I'm really trying here, but my taste buds are used to rich, sophisticated, wonderful desserts... I won't even start on the amazing desserts I've had in my life. That gives me an idea... I'll make a list :)
Well whoever decides to become a loyal reader I will appreciate any feedback you give me!
Enjoy your food and never regret it and don't spend 5 hours in the gym afterwards either :)
